Whatever Wednesday: General Ramblings

Hey Posse!

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Things have been looking up here. I have been hard at work writing part 5 Into the West: Last Showdown. I did take a break today to go get my first CoVid19 vaccine shot. I was really looking forward to this. As someone who is in a very high risk health category, having the vaccine makes me feel a lot more secure about my chances of survival should I get exposed to the virus. Considering, our downstairs neighbors have had CoVid19 and we share a entrance and laundry room. I was a tad worried.

I am hoping that this vaccine will mean Pedro and I will be able to get out a bit more and start doing a few more things. I would love to go to the local library and take them the last two books in my serial so they can have them on hand with the first two books for people to check out. Also, I have been wanting to do a tour around the town and put a copy of my first book Into the West: The Orphan Train in several of the free library boxes around town.

Pedro went with me while I got my shot and have my lung function test. My doctor had run a bunch of tests a few weeks ago to see if it would be safe for me to even have the vaccine. I got the green light, but because of a history of allergic reactions to medications, I had to wait for 30 minutes after the shot to make sure I was not going to have any reactions. Pedro also insisted on going with me to keep an eye on me himself. It made for a nice walk for us. We finally had some warm weather to do to in too. We also bought lunch, Döners, and something to have later for dinner so I would have the day off from cooking. Luckily, I have had no issues other than being tired. All in all, it was a really good day.

I cleared most of my schedule tomorrow in case I was sick, but it looks like I will be good to go. I can just use that free time to see if I can finish up Into the West: Last Showdown. Want I a sneak peek of what I have been working on this Friday? Click the little heart on the bottom right of the blog. If I get at least 10 hearts, I'll post a sneak peek in the Friday Funnies.

And just because I love sharing recipes, want to make your own Döners at home? These are so yummy! Here in Germany you can find Döner shop everywhere, but I think the best ones in our town are actually the ones in our neighborhood (and Pedro and I have tried a lot of places here). You always have the choice between chicken, lamb, or just veggies. Pedro almost always goes for lamb and I of course just have the veggie. You can get them spicy, the spicy sauce here is fantastic, or with just like a tzatziki sauce. No matter how you build your Döner, it is a great sandwich. Here they are so big, I always cut mine in half and either have lunch for two days or lunch and dinner, like I am doing today.

While you may not be able to get the same kinds of Döners we have here, RecipetinEats has a great Homemade Chicken Doner Kebab that will get you pretty close. The bread they use isn't the same but the ingredients sound just as tasty.

I hope you all have a great rest of your week and be sure to drop those hearts if you would like to see a sneak peek for Into the West: Last Showdown this Friday.

Take care,

Dianne
