Hello Posse,
I am already seeing a lot of posts from friends who are having a problem with chiggers and other annoying summertime pests. There are so many store bought bugs brands that contain harmful chemicals, I thought I would share a few recipes for homemade bug repellents that will not harm you or the environment.
Wellness Mama's website (<--- click here) has some wonderful recipes as well as some great information on chemicals in commercial bug repellents and some fantastic natural alternatives. If you do not feel like making your own bug repellant but still want a healthier option, she gives some suggestions for natural products you can buy in most health food stores. I agree with her selections. When I worked for a health food company, these are the same brands I used to recommend to my customers. But you don't have to take our word on this information. She had her article medically reviewed:
Wellness Mama: "This article was medically reviewed by Madiha Saeed, MD, a board certified family physician. As always, this is not personal medical advice and we recommend that you talk with your doctor."
