Friday Funnies: In the Pumpkin Patch!

Hello Posse!

I'm keeping the autumn/Halloween fun going with a bit of pumpkin humor! Pumpkins are such a great and versatile squash. Fun fact, pumpkins are also classified as gourds and fruit. They come in various colors, shapes, and sizes. Some pumpkins have a smooth skin and others look like they have barnacles. No matter which variety you prefer, they can all be great fun to carve for Halloween.

If you do carve a pumpkin, why not try roasting the pumpkin seeds for a tasty snack. YOu need to wash and dry the seeds first. Then toss them in a little olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. If you want to jazz them up a bit more, you can add garlic powder or Old Bay Seasoning. Spread them out on a cookie sheet lined with baking paper. Cook at 350° F (177° C) until golden brown, about 15 minutes depending on your oven. It is a good idea to stir them once or twice during cooking to get them evenly brown. When they are brown and crunchy, they are ready to eat!

Need another treat? Why not check out these cute kid friendly pumpkin jokes that are perfect to lift your spirits this Halloween season. If you can read them while sipping a pumpkin spice latte and enjoying some warm roasted pumpkin seeds, even better!

After the blog, be sure to check out the rest of my webpage and see what else I am working on. (Hint: Part five of the Into the West Saga Serial!)

Enjoy!

Stephen
